Under the sea there is a network of reactor nodes, and one of them is about to die. Whatever is inside it will be lost with it: recoverable technology, Core Scrap, everything the Dock above could still use. So four salvage divers take the lift down.

They are working people, not soldiers. Pale, scuffed helmets with one wide viewport and a small lamp, plates that have seen a lot of jobs. What they fight with is whatever they bolt together on the way, and the whole game is about making that improvisation fun. You never pick a bigger number. You pick a part that changes what your weapon does, and you keep changing your mind as the run goes on.

Winnable only together

Buddy Carry is the reason this game exists. When a diver goes down, someone has to pick them up and run, slowed, through a room that is still shooting at them, to a pod that can bring them back. If anyone bleeds out, the run ends for everyone. That sounds harsh, and it is the best part: every rescue is a race, and the person on your back is still firing.

Three ways to dive

Aegis holds the line, and runs faster with someone on their shoulders. Volta jams the machines and throws lightning. Medic lays a healing foam that slows whatever walks through it. It doesn’t take long for players to discover that electricity reacts with foam.

Where it stands

Scrap Core is in development for Roblox, where the Kozma Works group will publish it.

What makes it

  1. The Core fires, the Capacitor shapes, the Catalyst reacts

A build is one of each. A Nail Driver whose nails ricochet off the walls, say, with a Catalyst that throws a lightning arc whenever you revive someone. There is no “+5% damage” anywhere.

  2. Buddy Carry

At zero health you go limp. A teammate shoulders you and runs for a decompression pod, and you keep shooting from their back. The carrier picks the route; the passenger covers it.

  3. The Warden is the reactor

The node you dive into is the Boiler Warden’s body. Its lights, vents and maintenance machines notice you, heat up and fight back, and the boss room is its last defence.

  4. Meltdown

Cut the core loose and the node starts to go. Floodwater, steam, alarms, and at least a minute’s run to the lift, with whoever fell carried on someone’s shoulders.

  5. Short dives

A Standard run takes 15 to 18 minutes; a Short Run about six. Made for phones first, and just as playable on PC and console.

  6. Looks for sale, power never

Classes and weapon parts are earned by playing. The shop sells diver and Core skins, and every one of them can be earned with scrap too.
